Texas NODCC Conference Grant
The Texas NODCC Conference Grant is available to individuals diagnosed with a Disorder of the Corpus Callosum (DCC) who plan to attend the NODCC Conference in Atlanta, GA, July 23–25, 2026. Accepted applicants will receive a $2,000 grant to help offset costs associated with attending the conference. In addition, the North Texas NODCC will cover the conference registration fees for both the applicant and one guest.
If the applicant is under 18, a parent or legal guardian must complete this form. Adults with DCC may complete the application themselves.
Families in North Texas will be prioritized; however, families throughout Texas and Oklahoma are encouraged to apply.

Who is eligible to apply for this grant?
Applicants must be diagnosed with a Disorder of the Corpus Callosum (DCC) and plan to attend the NODCC Conference in Atlanta, GA (July 23–25, 2026). If the applicant is under 18, a parent or legal guardian must complete this form. Adults with DCC may complete the application themselves.
Applicants must have a confirmed DCC diagnosis. Applicants must specify the type of DCC in the application.
There is no strict age requirement. Children, teens, and adults with DCC may apply, as long as the conference will meaningfully benefit the applicant and the application is completed by a parent or legal guardian when appropriate.
I have multiple children with callosal disorders. Do I need to submit multiple grant applications?
Yes. Please submit separate applications for each applicable applicant.
What expenses are covered & not covered by the $2,000 grant?
Grant funds are intended to offset travel-related expenses, which may include:
- Airfare or other transportation
- Hotel accommodations
- Car rental or ground transportation
Funds should be used only for expenses directly related to attending the conference. If you need an advance of funds, please check here or send an email to northtexas@nodcc.org.
The grant may cover expenses for the applicant and approved accompanying individuals listed in the application. Please clearly list everyone whose expenses you are requesting funds for.

What expenses are NOT covered by the grant?
- Meals outside of conference-provided food
- Entertainment or tourism expenses
- Non-conference-related travel extensions
- Expenses for individuals not listed in the application
Applicants are asked to consider reasonably priced options when planning travel. Selecting luxury or premium options may reduce the likelihood of full funding unless there is a clear justification.
Can I apply if my expenses exceed $2,000?
Yes. You are still encouraged to apply even if your total travel expenses exceed $2,000.
The Texas NODCC Conference Grant provides reimbursement of up to $2,000, regardless of your total costs.
As part of the application, you will be asked how you plan to cover any remaining expenses (e.g., personal funds, fundraising, or other assistance).
Is conference registration included?
Yes. Accepted applicants will receive conference registration for the applicant and one guest at no cost, covered separately by the North Texas NODCC.
How are grant funds distributed and will documentation be required?
The Texas NODCC Conference Grant is a reimbursement-based grant.
Approved applicants will be responsible for purchasing eligible expenses upfront and will be reimbursed up to $2,000 once all required documentation is submitted.
Yes, documentation (such as receipts) is required as a condition of reimbursement. The Texas NODCC team will work directly with applicants throughout the process to review, approve, and reimburse expenses in a timely manner to ensure a smooth experience.

How often can I apply for or receive a grant?
A family or individual may apply for an item once per calendar year.
Are Texas NODCC Conference Grants awarded to individuals who do not have a disorder of the corpus callosum?
No. The Texas NODCC Conference Grant is specifically designed to help those with a disorder of the corpus callosum. These disorders include, but may not be limited to, agenesis of the corpus callosum, dysgenesis of the corpus callosum, and hypoplasia.
What should we include in the “Story of the Applicant”?
This is your opportunity to share your family’s journey. You may include:
- The applicant’s DCC diagnosis and challenges
- Strengths, growth, or milestones
- Why attending the conference matters to your family.
There is no “right” or “wrong” story — authenticity is encouraged.
How will attending the conference help my child or family?
Families may benefit through:
- Educational sessions
- Connection with other DCC families
- Access to medical, therapeutic, and educational resources
- Emotional support and community building
Please share how you believe this experience will support the applicant’s development.
Have prior grant recipients or NODCC participants applied successfully again?
Yes. Families who have previously used NODCC resources or grants may still apply. Prior participation does not disqualify an applicant.
What does “marketing permission” mean?
Marketing permission allows NODCC to share parts of your story (such as quotes, photos, or general experiences) in communications or fundraising materials. You can choose:
- Full permission
- Limited permission
- No permission
- Permission only after being contacted
Your choice will not impact grant eligibility.
How and when will applicants be notified?
Applicants will be notified by email after the application review process is complete. Additional documentation or clarification may be requested before final awards are issued.
If you have already paid for conference registration and are later awarded a scholarship, the NODCC will reimburse you for your conference registration.
Decisions will be after June 5th.
