By NODCC Storyteller, Miriam Bernard
Happy New Year! As we look ahead to all the great things to come for the NODCC, we want to start by appreciating and dwelling on some of our favorite moments of 2024, because where we’ve been provides clarity for where we’re going! We hope these memories spark your favorite 2024 moments, and give you great times to cling to as we emerge into a brand new year!
Here are some of the favorite moments of 2024 that our NODCC community members shared!
My grandson was diagnosed with ACC in October of 24. My favorite memory is finding the NODCC and attending the webinar specific to grandparents. So thrilled to find others who will help my family on this journey. – Teresa R.
Having the incredible opportunity to speak at the conference! I met so many incredible families I had only connected online with, and just absolutely loved spending the weekend with the NODCC community. – Felicia C.
Watching the dance floor at Conference and seeing all the friends that we have met through the years!! – Jana S.
That I got to sell my VES Creations By: Victoria jewelry for the first time this summer at the NODCC conference in Chicago this past summer. Plus I got to hangout with my bestie Shaunza who I haven’t seen in two years at the Chicago NODCC conference. – Victoria S.
Attending my very first NODCC conference, and spending nearly the entire time interviewing and learning about the unique and amazing stories of those in attendance. It’s immediately evident upon setting foot in those conference halls that the NODCC is a VERY special community, and getting to finally be in the midst of it after so long felt like coming home to a group of friends and family! I love this community! – Miriam B.
Traveling across the universe for days in a metal cylinder to catch up with our favourite people at the NODCC conference. Belonging is everything! – Maree M.
Being at the NODCC conference and at the hotel. – Hannah F.
Going to my very First Ever NODCC Conference in Chicago, Illinois and meeting lots of wonderful and amazing people who have some sort of a corpus callosum disorder and being able to keep in touch and becoming best and forever friends with them along the way, and also by learning lots about my disability as well. – Chris L.
There were several moments throughout the year that were memorable, but my favorite one was the day that I purchased my first home. In the latter half of the year, I got to enjoy some of the “firsts” of home ownership like raking my lawn and decorating my home for the holidays. – Alexa S.
I started dating my best friend! – Abigail K.
May 2025 be just as rich with joy and happiness as 2024 was, and we hope you’ll take the NODCC along in your journey!
